🍂 Autumn on the Farm 🍁
As summer begins to wind down, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has visited Windmill Animal Farm and supported us throughout what has been an incredibly busy summer!
We’re now looking forward to an exciting autumn on the farm, with lots happening over the coming weeks.
The Great Pumpkin Adventure,
Our brand-new Event is almost here!
Ive been out checking on this year’s pumpkin crop… and we think it could be our best crop yet!
We’ve teamed up with local farmer Harry Forshaw, whose family has been growing some of Lancashire’s finest vegetables for generations, and together we’re getting ready for thousands of pumpkins in all shapes, sizes and colours.
And the best bit? No mud, no mess!
This year’s Pumpkin Adventure is completely indoors, making it perfect for families, prams and those classic rainy October days!
You can enjoy all the fun of choosing your perfect pumpkin without worrying about muddy fields or muddy little boots. We can’t wait to welcome you and see which pumpkins you pick!
We’re also looking forward to welcoming more Highland calves being born throughout September and October.
There’s nothing quite like seeing these gorgeous, fluffy new arrivals taking their first steps around the farm, and we’ll be sharing plenty of updates as our Highland family continues to grow.
Our popular Play Days are back!
Come along and enjoy our fantastic indoor and outdoor play adventures at a reduced price, with adults FREE.
It’s the perfect way to enjoy a family day out, whatever the weather — with plenty of space for the children to run, climb, explore and burn off some energy!

Since 1938, Windmill Animal Farm has been the Slinger Family’s residence. Originally, we operated as dairy, cattle, and sheep farmers, delivering fresh milk to our local villagers.
In 1990, during a family holiday in Wales, we explored a farm visitor attraction, returning home brimming with ideas. Consequently, on the 1st of August 1992, we opened our gates to the public.
Presently, our farm boasts an incredible array of rare breed and exotic farm animals, along with top-notch indoor and outdoor play areas in Lancashire.
Windmill Farm has provided four generations of family farmyard enjoyment, and now, we’re eager to share it all with you.
Come and immerse yourself in the daily workings of our farm. Observe, feed, and interact with many of our splendid animals and their young.

Don’t let the rain dampen your spirits! At our farm, the majority of activities are undercover, so you can still visit and have a great time! Come rain or shine, you can enjoy our Indoor soft play, meet our Farmyard Friends, experience Cuddly Critters, ride the farm train, and much more. Create wonderful memories down on the farm!

A Great Family Day Out!
Bearded Dragons, Geckos, Pythons, a Salmon Boa Constrictor and a Chilli Rose Tarantula spider.
The farm train runs to the Lake View Station starting at 11.00am, and then every half hour until 4.00pm.
